Background and Current Scope of Practice

Alex Myers is an associate attorney representing clients in various civil practice areas, including personal injury and tort defense, construction litigation, premises liability, and insurance defense.

A Texas native, Alex, is a seasoned litigation attorney with experience representing clients in Dallas, Fort Worth, Lubbock, and Amarillo regarding complex legal disputes. With a proven track record in commercial litigation, business and contract litigation, banking litigation, non-profit litigation, and insurance litigation, Alex is dedicated to achieving favorable outcomes for clients through negotiation, mediation, and trial. He is committed to providing clear communication and personalized service, ensuring clients are informed and confident throughout the legal process.

Prior to Walters, Balido, & Crain, Alex served as In-House Counsel for a large bank serving as the Corporate Real Estate and Compliance legal counsel team lead. Furthermore, Alex represented the bank in various litigation matters involving business contracts, deposit accounts, and concerning labor and employment issues.

Furthermore, Alex has served as a Staff Attorney for a nonprofit organization representing both individuals and community organizations involving landlord-tenant matters, Deceptive Trade Practices Act disputes, and redlining housing complaints.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys helping plant trees around Dallas, walking on the Katy Trail, and rooting for the Houston Astros and the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

  • Presenter of two CLEs Titled “How the Community Reinvestment Act and the Fair Housing Act Can Benefit Disadvantaged Communities” and “How the CRA Can Benefit Disadvantaged Communities” to Texas non-profit organizations.
  • Creator and Co-founder of the Know Your Rights Legal Advocacy Program with the Terry West Civil Clinic at the University of Tulsa College of Law.
  • Authored, created, and led initiatives that have been featured on TV on the ABC channel 7 affiliate in Amarillo, on radio on Newsday Amarillo, and in print on yahoo.com.
