Michael’s practice is comprised of an amalgamation of complex civil defense and insurance defense litigation, including the following: personal auto and motor vehicle; commercial auto and trucking and transportation; premises liability; animal attacks and dangerous animals; general contractor, sub-contractor, and independent contractor; dram shop, TABC, and wrongful death and survivorship actions; commercial farming equipment; oil and pipeline pigging operations and explosions and flare stack and natural gas production and operation; utility line and directional boring operations; firsts-party coverage disputes involving property damage and appraisal; coverage litigation regarding wind, hailstorm, flood, and residential matters; multi-district coverage litigation; product liability and NHTSA claims alleging manufacturer and/or design defects (implicating chain of liability exposures, defense and indemnity tenders); and professional medical negligence.

Additionally, Michael has years of experience defending exposures against numerous alleged causes of action, including the following: negligence and negligence per se; gross negligence; negligent entrustment, hiring, supervision, retention, and training; product liability (design, defect, and manufacturing); vicarious liability (respondeat superior); and first-party causes of action alleging breach of contract; statutory and common law bad faith; violations of the Texas Prompt Payment of Claims Act; and violations of the Deceptive Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Act.

During his personal time, Michael enjoys running, meditation, experiencing nature and wildlife adventures, traveling, live music and concerts, and spending time with his family (including his two fur-babies). Michael is also an avid tennis player, philosophy enthusiast, and aspiring cellist.
